Slabbing

The Full Story - Slabbing

Internal slabbing is the process of fixing plasterboards (slabs) to internal walls or ceilings to create a smooth, flat surface. This method, also known as dry lining, is a modern alternative to traditional "wet" plastering with multiple thick coats.

Process: Plasterboards can be mechanically fixed with screws to wooden battens or metal frames, or they can be glued to the wall using a "dot and dab" adhesive method.

Purpose: It provides a quick way to cover bare brickwork or block walls, adds a layer of soundproofing, and can easily incorporate insulation within the created cavity.
